About us
Word & Deed Lanka partners with churches and communities across Sri Lanka. Spiritual empowerment is at the heart of what we do — and it walks hand in hand with practical, social development.
Our vision
We build God's Kingdom through God's Word, alongside acts of kindness, in unity — to restore the hope of a broken nation.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18
Our mission
We provide materials and training, teach on salvation and growth toward Christian maturity, and encourage spiritual and social concern for others — while improving access to quality education, reducing poverty, and empowering individuals, families and communities through the love of Christ.
“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:17
How we work
Igniting purpose, releasing potential.
Tools for today, hope for tomorrow.
Changing lives, shaping generations.
Leadership
Today, under CEO Timothy Daniel, Word & Deed Lanka continues the work begun by Cynthia and Alfred Devadason in 1972 — building God's Kingdom through education, outreach and community development, transforming lives one heart at a time.
Our teams in Colombo and Hatton run schools, clubs, nutrition and training programs year-round, alongside local churches and partners.
